Phoenix or 67 miles today - 426 down
We climbed 1500 feet in temps from 55 to 102 degrees. The shoulder was horrible. At 40 miles the riding choice was the highway with the concrete trucks, the white line, the rumble strip, or the guard rail. As I looked up in despair, there was the sag van. I spent the afternoon in the pool - tough job but someone has to do it.
The Arizona desert is beautiful, it is a heat wave here. I guess it is better than cold and rain.

We learned of your ride through the Rolla Daily News. My husband and I are just getting started in Triathlons. My husband has been to Spin class with you a time or two. You are very inspiring. Stay strong and keep up the great effort.

Retta, call me sometime. We are getting ready for Mom's big birthday bash this weekend. Karen's friends, Bill and Sherry, will bring their laptop so Mom can see this website. I heard from Karen about the "learning experience" you are amazing!
