Rest Day

Nobody could sleep late. We are just too wired. The gal who rode 100 miles yesterday had swollen feet, hands and lips, but was trialing someone’s recumbent bike this morning. Some are riding 5 miles to the river, others went to yoga class. All have done laundry. See mine hanging off the chair? We all have taken care of our bikes - the chains are cleaned and the loose parts are tightened. Did you see the box of bike tools we have? Actually everything we have needed have been in there.

There are some ancient (pre-Indian?) sites 15 miles north of here at Blythe. There are human stone carvings that are best seen from the air. A group of us are going after lunch - in a car. I’ll probably not have access to a good picture - we’ll see.

It’s nice not to be moving. We are supposed to be in Phoenix in 5 days. I can hardly believe it. The picture of these two gals are the owner and founder of the Tour. The younger one is leaving today and the older one is leaving us in Phoenix. They are rather remarkable women. Gloria, the older one, made this trip the first time when she was 51 — she is now 64 — and thought it would be a great idea to support women wanting to do a trip like this.

I want to thank everyone for supporting me in this adventure!

Hey, Retta...I am checking the pic's on a regular basis and reading your notes. Sounds like you are having a great time. It also sounds as if you are building a skin/wound practice as you ride!! Be safe. Margaret M.
