55 Miles from Phoenix

I rode all of the 56 miles today! We start so early in the morning to avoid the heat. Gals were taking pictures of the moon this AM. Actually it is too hot to be out on the road after 1:00, so you had better be done. Slow climb until we got to Wickenburg. This town is the capital of Dude Ranches. We had some ice cream before the hotel — nice place with internet access.

Enclosed is a picture of a site I didn’t get to see near Blythe. It is on an Indian reservation and not exactly a tourist spot. I’ll have to go back sometime and see it. I’m sure there is some National Geographic show or something about space invaders that would have better viewing than on foot.

Retta, Just how early are you on the road to be finished with the leg by 1:00pm? It is cold here- about 34 degrees. Does that cool you off? Keep on trekin'!

love ya,
Joy

"55 Miles from Phoenix" Sounds like a great title to a movie. Sounds good even if you are coming to or going from Phoenix.
